Jeffrey H. Foster
Senior Advisor
Jeffrey H. Foster is a Senior Advisor at Cloud Capital since March 2024. Prior to that, Jeffrey served as the Chief Financial Officer at Cloud Capital and led the finance efforts for the fund and wider business. He is also currently an Adjunct Professor of Real Estate at Georgetown University. Prior to this he served as the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of DuPont Fabros Technology (DFT), a data center REIT, from 2013 until DFT was acquired in 2017. He also served as Chief Accounting Officer from 2007 to 2014. Jeffrey guided DFT through the two highest profile events in the company’s history – the 2007 IPO and the 2017 sale to Digital Realty. Jeffrey has a proven track record of leadership and financial experience.
As Chief Financial Officer, Jeffrey was responsible for obtaining financing through common and preferred equity, bonds and bank debt. He was also responsible for strategic planning, investor relations, accounting and lobbying for a sales tax exemption. Jeffrey performed a key role in the company’s largest tenant leases with Facebook and Rackspace and priced out all of the company’s products. During his tenure as CFO, total shareholder return was 37% per annum.
Prior to his role as Chief Financial Officer, Jeffrey served as Chief Accounting Officer of DFT. In that capacity, Jeffrey built the accounting department so DFT could meet the requirements of SEC reporting and was responsible for budgeting and forecasts. Prior to DFT, Jeffrey was Chief Accounting Officer at Global Signal, the first cell tower REIT. In this role, Jeffrey oversaw the accounting for a company that tripled in size during his tenure. Jeffrey was also Corporate Controller at Danka, a dual UK and U.S. registered copier distributor, CFO of Progress Telecom, a fiber company, and held various accounting and SEC reporting roles at an electric utility and telecom provider. Jeffrey began his career at Arthur Andersen.
Mr. Foster has built a reputation for integrity and transparency with investors. His career began as a technical accountant and expanded into all aspects of business. He became a trusted advisor to his CEO’s and Board of Directors.
He is a 1984 High Honors graduate of the University of Florida with a bachelors of science in Accounting. He received his Masters of Accountancy from the University of South Florida in 1985. He passed the CPA exam in 1985 with the highest grade in Florida and also received national honors. Mr. Foster currently serves on the boards of Broad Street Realty, a publicly traded owner of shopping centers; and Vault Digital Infrastructure, a private equity backed data center company. He also serves on the boards of the Alzheimer’s Association Florida Gulf Coast Chapter and the Child and Family Network Center which provides free pre-K education to underprivileged children in Alexandria, Virginia. He was a finalist for the Northern Virginia Technology Council’s Public Company CFO of the year in 2018.
